PowerSchool parent portal, for Dubai parents
PowerSchool is the student-information system many UAE international schools use. Parents sign in to see grades, attendance, the timetable and — when teachers enter them — assignments. The same school will often also email you. ParentHub reads both.
What PowerSchool is (and is not)
PowerSchool is the school's official record of your child: courses, marks, daily attendance codes, teacher comments. It is not the school's whole communication stack. Newsletters, trip letters and fee reminders usually still arrive by email or in a second portal such as GEMS Connect.
Each school has its own address, typically school.powerschool.com. You get a username from the school; you do not create a public PowerSchool account.
What parents usually check
- Grades and attendance — current courses, absences and tardies for the term.
- Attendance history — the dated list (present, absent, excused, nurse visit).
- Assignments — only if teachers record work there. In many Dubai schools the live homework list lives in Google Classroom instead.
- Schedule — today's periods and the weekly grid.
A blank assignments page is common at the start of a term. It is not a broken login.
Why the portal and the inbox disagree
A teacher may mark an absence in PowerSchool and send nothing. The office may email a trip form that never appears in the portal. ParentHub treats them as two sources: the edition shows the item once when they are the same homework, and side by side when they are different facts (a fee in mail, a grade in the portal).
How ParentHub connects
You enter the same parent username and password you already use. ParentHub signs in once a day, read-only, and never posts, pays or messages the school. The password sits in a sealed vault; you can disconnect it in one tap. If the school turns on email OTP, you complete that once; we keep the session cookie, not a second password.
The daily edition then includes attendance changes, new grades and any assignments that actually have a due date or a mark. Empty syllabus rows stay out of your morning page.
If you only use PowerSchool today
Connect the portal and the mailbox the school writes to. That is the minimum that covers both the official record and the letters that never get typed into PowerSchool. GEMS families should also read the Connect guide — fees and circulars live there, not in PowerSchool.
