Two children, two schools, one morning page
A common Dubai house: one child at a GEMS school on PowerSchool and GEMS Connect, the other at a Taaleem or independent campus on iSAMS or Engage, homework in Classroom for one and ManageBac or Toddle for the other. Two gates. Four or five logins. The school run does not wait for you to finish both.
The pile doubles, it does not merge
Family WhatsApp will mix the two circulars. The SIS will not. An absence at Repton or King’s does not appear in the sibling’s Dubai College or JESS portal. Nord Anglia’s parent app does not list the GEMS athletics fee. Checking “the school” as if it were one building is how a form gets missed for the quieter child.
You need one pass per child, not one pass for the household that pretends the portals agree.
What should stay separate
Attendance, grades and due work stay on that child’s page. A family-wide notice — KHDA-related mail, a holiday the office sent to both addresses — can appear in both editions. Guessing that “both schools are closed” without a source in each mailbox is how rumours start.
One account, two editions
ParentHub is one family account and one morning habit: an edition per child, from the mailbox and the parent portal you connect for that school. Dedicated readers exist for PowerSchool and GEMS Connect; iSAMS, Engage and other named types are recognised in setup. Classroom follows the student Google account you attach to that child.
The monthly plan starts at AED 99 per child; family plans cover more than one student. That is a few breakfasts, not a canteen lunch — and it beats two stacks of logins.
