Ask the school day on WhatsApp. You already have the chat open.

· 5 min

Still life: phone with a chat bubble, envelope and a cup. No people.
The useful reply is a date and a source — not another login.

Dubai parents already live in WhatsApp: the class group, the nanny, the driver. The school day does not. It sits in PowerSchool or iSAMS, in Engage, in GEMS Connect or a Taaleem app, in Classroom or ManageBac, and in the mailbox you gave at enrolment. Opening five of those to ask “is anything due?” is the wrong tool.

What you actually want to ask

“Is there a form this week?” “Did the office mark an absence?” “When is the athletics fee due?” Those are facts. They already exist in the SIS, the second parent app, or the mail. The class WhatsApp group will sometimes paste the circular. It will not reliably paste the absence code from Period 1.

The same questions show up whether the gate says GEMS, Nord Anglia, King’s, Repton, JESS or Dubai College. The chat app is shared. The portals are not.

An answer with a source

A useful reply is short: the dated thing, and the sentence it came from. If the fact is not in the connected mail or portal, the honest answer is a gap — not a guess dressed as confidence. Pia is not a teacher and not a private tutor. She does not invent KHDA dates. She reads the edition.

Ask from the same number

ParentHub puts one daily school digest per child on the page and by email. Then you can ask on WhatsApp from the number you registered. The answer comes from that child’s sources — PowerSchool, GEMS Connect or the portal you connected, plus Classroom when the student Google account is on. Dedicated readers exist for PowerSchool and GEMS Connect; iSAMS and Engage are recognised in setup.

The monthly plan starts at AED 99. That is a few family breakfasts, not a canteen lunch.
