Stop asking “did you do your homework?” every night
The nightly question is usually not about character. It is about a due date that lives in Google Classroom, ManageBac, Satchel One or Toddle — and sometimes, if a teacher bothered, in PowerSchool, iSAMS or Engage. The child already knows you do not have the list. That is why the answer is a shrug.
Where the work actually sits
In many Dubai internationals the live homework list is not the parent portal. PowerSchool and iSAMS hold the official record. Engage does the same at some British-curriculum schools. The assignment with a real due date is often in Classroom (GEMS and many others), ManageBac (IB), Satchel One, or Toddle and Seesaw in the younger years. A teacher may enter it in two places, or in one, or in none.
That split is the same at a GEMS campus, a Taaleem school, Nord Anglia, King’s, Repton, JESS or Dubai College. The product names change. The evening does not.
What “checking homework” should mean
You do not need a second interrogation. You need tomorrow’s dated work on one page before the school run: subject, due date, and whether the source is Classroom or the SIS. Empty syllabus rows stay out. Guessing “they must have maths” is worse than a gap.
This is not “stop parenting”. It is stop performing a portal login as a bedtime ritual.
One morning list
ParentHub reads the mailbox the school writes to and the parent portal you connect, and it reads homework from the student Google account when you add Classroom.
